Royal and Sun Alliance has awarded group chief executive Andy Haste shares under the firm's incentive plan worth in excess of £1.1m, according to reports.

The group awarded a number of board members with shares which cannot be exercised until 2010.

UK chief executive Bridget Mcintrye received 44,446 shares and chief financial officer George Culmer received 105,138.
