Smithson Mason follows expansion with re-brand

Leeds-based broker Smithson Mason has re-branded as SMg Risk Solutions following a period of local acquisitions.

During the past year, SMg Risk Solutions brought together four Yorkshire based-brokers, Smithson Mason, RBR, Hainsworth Watts and Cowburn, to create a strong presence in the region.

The new business now has offices in Leeds, Bradford, Ilkley and Altringham, employing over 114 staff.

The re-brand concluded a major period of modernisation and streamlining, with the introduction of new technology and the creation of an in-house claims division and a risk management arm, said managing director Mark Minton.

"We'll be even happier if the team wins promotion in 2004."
