The REaD Group has developed itsmypost.com, a new online service allowing consumers to set their direct mailing preferences.

The data asset management specialist indicates that the insurance industry accounted for almost 10% of the direct mail sent in 2004. The company is confident that the service will result in more targeted mailings and lead to higher response rates.

Mark Roy, chief executive of The REaD Group, said: "Itsmypost.com continues to pursue The REaD Group's business model of creating ‘win win' scenarios. Consumers will gain by getting what the research has shown they want and industry will gain by an improved trust and confidence in the medium."

Itsmypost.com members will be able to register online, create a personal profile and decide from which companies they would like to receive mail communication.
