AM Best said the ratings for Royal & SunAlliance (R&SA) and its core subsidiaries remained unaffected by the publication of the company's second quarter results.

The rating remained at A- (excellent) with a negative outlook, it said.

AM Best said R&SA's combined ratio of 99.7% and operating result of £301m was in line with its expectations.
