The aircraft that hit a high-rise apartment block in New York has killed two people.
Reports said early this morning that the two killed were New York Yankees baseball pitcher Cory Lidle and his flying instructor.
The plane's impact set two floors of the 50-storey building on fire.
News of the crash, which evoked memories of 9/11, spread quickly and caused initial panic.
Shortly after the incident fighter planes were scrambled over several cities across the US.
However, the incident has now been officially ruled as an accident.
