Personal Group Holdings said pretax profit for 2003 was £6.3m as it released its results for the 12 months ending 31 December 2003. Pretax profit for 2002 was £5.61m, it said.

Gross written premiums reached £12.91m, up from £12.19m in the previous year.

The board has recommended a final dividend of 3p, compared with a final dividend of 2.35p in 2002.

The group, which specialises in employee benefits, said it launched programmes for Tibbett & Britten, Living Well, Travis Perkins, Starbucks, The Telegraph Group and Highfield Care during the second half of 2003.

Since January 2004 it has launched programmes for Brake Brothers, Christian Salvesen, Travelodge and Little Chef.

Chief executive Ken Rooney said: “The Group has had an exceptionally good year and is in an excellent position to further invest in the business to extend and develop the opportunities at hand.”
