Pavilion Insurance Network is to expand into Europe, through its subsidiary Pavilion Insurance Management, targeting France first.

The company will initially launch Musicguard France, a policy to cover musicians. It said this would be with a “view to establishing a template for further expansion in other European markets”.

Pavilion has as set up a marketing office within France. French insurance administrator SPB will provide customer support to the website process, and claims handling. Underwriting will be provided by GAN Eurocourtage IARD, a major French insurer.

Sales director Sarah Gow said: "Musicguard was a natural choice for us to implement first into the French market as they have a very similar infrastructure and market size, but as yet, there are no websites that provide instant quotes and instant cover.

"We have therefore launched a virtual operation using our own Integrated Specialist Insurance Software (ISIS), the web technology designed to handle the entire insurance transaction from quotation to cover, through the website."

She added: "We believe that we have identified a gap within the French market and will look to capitalise on this by promoting the service through 250 of the top French music stores. Our plan is to launch additional niche products in France with the view of launching Cycleguard in 2007."

Pavilion said it had launched several new products in the UK this year and would launch more product over the next 12 months.
