The hire previously worked at WTW in 2004 before spending the majority of his career at Aon
Willis Towers Watson (WTW) has appointed Hugo Wegbrans as global head of broking and broking strategy within its risk and broking business segment.
Wegbrans has worked for the broker before - he spent around five years at WTW BV from 2004, serving as chief executive of the Dutch branch. However, he has spent the majority of his 35-year career at Aon.
During his tenure at Aon, Wegbrans was most recently leader of global strategies within its commercial risk solutions business.
Wegbrans will return to WTW in early 2022.
Adam Garrard, global head of risk and broking at WTW, said: “Hugo knows the global broking landscape better than most.
“He shares our passion for innovation, underpinned by great people and superior data and analytics.
“He’s a well respected people leader, who helps teams get to the heart of what clients need both now and in the future.
“We look forward to welcoming him to WTW in the new year.”
With roots dating back to 1828, when Henry Willis started importing goods at the Baltic Exchange in London, WTW now has 45,000 employees working across more than 140 countries and markets.
