’This agreement ensures we can continue to grow while providing the best possible service to tradespeople,’ says chief executive

ARMD has announced a new multiyear capacity agreement with Accelerant.

The tradespeople MGA said the deal, which will last for five years, would help it “scale operations while maintaining its commitment to distribute via brokers”.

ARMD also felt Accelerant’s data and technology infrastructure “aligns perfectly with its focus on improving insurance for tradespeople”.

Devin Chawda, chief executive at ARMD, added: “We’re delighted to partner with Accelerant, whose innovative approach to capacity provision and shared values align seamlessly with ARMD’s mission.

“This agreement ensures we can continue to grow while providing the best possible service to tradespeople, helping them protect their livelihoods with confidence.”

Product

ARMD has secured the capacity deal after launching its Tools in Transit product, which provides up to £10,000 for tools left securely in a van 24/7.

It also contains an inventory app that enables tradespeople to manage their assets, submit digital claims and reduce downtime in the event of theft.

ARMD co-founder Alan Hickman said: “There are a few specific products that exist in the market – some of them, in our view, do not have the right level of cover.

“There is absolutely a gap in the market to offer really premium products to tradespeople because [theft] is a problem that exists.

“Theft is our start point with Tools in Transit – theft from a van is a significant problem.”
