Insurance Times rounds up the biggest appointments and promotions from 7 to 11 October 2024
Starting off the week, Markerstudy appointed Emma Rawlinson as its new chief investment officer following its acquisition of broking business Atlanta.
Rawlinson joined Markerstudy following the completion of the deal in June 2024, with her taking up the role of chief operating officer at Markerstudy Distribution.
Then, it was confirmed that James Burge will leave Allianz to take up a new role at Hiscox.
Burge, who has spent the last 24 years at Allianz, will exit the insurer in January 2025.
Following this, Admiral announced that Cristina Nestares has decided to step down as the firm’s UK insurance chief executive.
Nestares will be succeeded by Alistair Hargreaves, who currently serves as the deputy boss for the UK.
And then, Moonrock Drone Insurance hired Rachel Oliver as its new chief operating officer.
Oliver joins the specialist drone MGA from Aioi Nissay Dowa UK, where she has been an operations resilience consultant since April 2024.
This week also saw former Aviva c-suite Jane Poole officially take up her new role as chief financial officer at Direct Line Group (DLG).
Poole’s appointment was first announced in April 2024.
And former Allianz Personal chief executive Stephen Treloar joined insurtech Zego’s board as an independent non-executive director.
Rounding off the week, Arc Legal Group appointed former Allianz leader Lee Taylor as its new chief executive.
Taylor will succeed Frank O’Malley and have oversight of the firm’s ancillary products and services in the UK.
His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
