’Joining SRG marks a significant milestone,’ says managing director
Broker Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has acquired Tristar Special Risks (TSR) as it looks to expand its expertise in specialist areas.
TSR specialises in terrorism insurance and supports broker partners across the UK with cover for commercial and residential risks, including political and religious properties.
SRG said buying the firm would enhance its expertise and allow it to continue building out its managing general agent (MGA) MX, which was launched in December 2021.
‘Exciting future’
Speaking about the deal, Lee Anderson, SRG group deputy chief executive, said: “We first engaged with James and the Tristar team at the SRG market briefing in January 2020.

James Woolerton, TSR managing director, added: “Joining SRG marks a significant milestone for TSR and brings exciting opportunities for our broker partners.
”With SRG’s infrastructure and market presence, we look forward to improving all aspects of our offerings, continuing to provide best in market terrorism insurance solutions and providing the unique and market-leading levels of innovation, flexibility, collaboration and expertise our brokers value so highly.”
