Building on eight years of partnership, the deal will aid future strategic opportunities, says deputy chief executive
Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has agreed to acquire the London-based special risks team from corporate broker Bridge Insurance.
The team have expertise in arranging insurance programmes for businesses operating in conflict-affected territories – this includes mine clearance, humanitarian assistance and disaster recovery.
The newly acquired members will join SRG’s existing special risks team, led by Cliff Butters.
Lee Anderson, SRG’s deputy chief executive, said: “The team epitomise all that we stand for at SRG. They have deep specialist knowledge built over many years and I am thrilled that they are joining us at such an exciting time in our journey.
“Bridge have been respected long-term trading partners of SRG, so we are delighted to work with them on this and other strategic opportunities in the future.”
New growth
Bridge Insurance, which was established in 1970 and now has a team of over 100, began trading with SRG in 2014.
The business covers commercial insurance in construction and real estate, international, credit and corporate clients, as well as offering SME and business support.
Roger Potts, chief executive at Bridge Insurance, added: “SRG has been a long-standing partner of Bridge and we have worked jointly on many clients in this, and other, business sectors.
“We look forward to continuing this relationship and working with Anderson and his colleagues as we jointly develop new growth opportunities and client solutions.”
