Speciality insurer Fortegra has appointed Richard Mangion as its new chief financial officer for the UK and Europe.
Based in London, Mangion will be responsible for leading finance operations and contributing to the overall strategy across the UK and European region.
His appointment to this newly created role was effective from 21 October 2024.
Mangion said: “I am thrilled to join Fortegra and work alongside such a committed team.
“I am confident that together we will bolster the company’s already stellar financial performance and accelerate its growth throughout Europe.”
Experience
Mangion has more than 23 years of experience in financial analysis, risk management and business development.

He joins from Bridgehaven Insurance, where he most recently served as chief financial officer.
The appointee has also held leadership roles as HDI Global SE and WR Berkley during his career.
In his new role, he will report to Ed Peña, Fortegra’s group chief financial officer.
Peña said: “Mangion’s proven track record and extensive expertise will be critical as we continue to invest in our European growth.

His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
