The FCA complaints data reveals the most complained about insurance companies over the first half of 2019
The latest complaints data from the FCA has revealed that Aviva is the most complained about insurance company, with the group as a whole receiving a total of 154,291 complaints across the first six months of 2019.
This is some way ahead of the second-most complained about insurer, Admiral, which received 52,681 complaints over the same period.
Direct Line Group, meanwhile, had 47,027 complaints about it referred to the FCA, making it the third most complained about insurer over the first half of 2019.
Other notable insurers on the list include Allianz with 14,496 complaints, Legal & General with 12,165 and esure with 11,563. LV=, meanwhile, received 11,545 complaints and Lloyd’s of London 10,364.
The news comes after the FCA revealed the total number of insurance complaints (excluding PPI) neared 450,000, with motor and transport insurance the most complained about business line.
When it comes to brokers, Hastings received the most complaints, with 28,068 complaints about the broker being referred to the regulator.
The second most complained about broker was the AA with 16,846 complaints, while BGL Group rounds off the top three with 10,992 complaints.
The Ardonagh Group was the only other broker to receive more than 10,000 complaints, with a total of 10,737 complaints about the broking group referred to the regulator.
