’She will be an enormous asset to us with the ever-growing pipeline of insurance business we have lined up,’ says founding director

Specialist broker and risk management consultancy Renewable Risk Advisers (RRA) has re-appointed Jessica Alner as its client and broking director, to lead the business’ client management and insurance broking services for both onshore and offshore projects.

Alner, who has 24 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, first joined RRA in 2017 as a senior insurance risk advisor.

She then moved to Price Forbes and Partners’ broking team in 2023, where she specialised in major accounts within wind, solar energy, battery energy storage and hydrogen production projects.

Prior to these roles, she worked as an in-house insurance risk manager for a prominent international renewable energy developer.

Bill Lloyd, founding director of RRA, said: “In a still challenging risk and insurance landscape for renewables, we are delighted to welcome [Alner] back.

”She will be an enormous asset to us with the ever-growing pipeline of insurance business we have lined up.”

Partnership

RRA has additionally announced its partnership with Crawford Dougall, a specialist South African insurance broker that established a London market operation in 2023.

The broker, which is led by chief executive Simon Dougall, plans to further link its London broker presence with its South African renewable and infrastructure division to better serve international clientele. RRA will also liaise with these business divisions.

Sophie Maggs, head of renewables at Crawford Dougall, said: “Renewable energy truly requires a global skill set to deliver exceptional local results.

“With this philosophy in mind, we are delighted to participate in this strategic partnership.”
