The group said it had targeted nine of the insurer’s offices across England, Scotland and Wales overnight

Palestine Action has attacked several of Allianz’s offices across the UK in its latest round of insurance related protests.

The group said it had targeted nine of the insurer’s locations across England, Scotland and Wales overnight.

It said that red paint had been thrown over buildings and that windows had been smashed as well.

The group also targeted several of Allianz’s offices in Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands.

The protest is against Elbit Systems, which manufactures over 85% of Israel’s drones, including quadcopters used by the country’s military to perform targeted military operations.

Palestine Action allege that Allianz is involved in the provision of employers’ liability insurance to Elbit Systems.

A spokesperson from Palestine Action said that it will continue to take “direct action” against Elbit Systems and companies that support it.

“We will ensure [Allianz] lose more than they gain by working with the Israeli weapons maker,” they added.

Insurance Times has approached Allianz for comment.

Other protest

This comes after Palestine Action targeted 10 Allianz offices across the UK in October 2024.

During the protest last year, offices in London, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and other cities saw windows smashed, Palestinian flags hung and red paint sprayed across facades by the protesters.

At the time, Palestine Action threatened to continue its protests against Allianz.

The group said: “The 10 actions are just the beginning of our campaign against Allianz, which will swiftly end once we receive confirmation that they will no longer provide insurance for, or invest in, Israel’s biggest weapons producer Elbit Systems.

“We invite Allianz to announce the end of their ties with Elbit Systems. Until then, we will continue our actions against the firm.”

The latest protest comes after Israel’s government approved a deal with Hamas for a ceasefire in Gaza.

The war began in 2023, following the Hamas-led attack on Israel on 7 October that year.
