’In order to give drivers the opportunity to insure in a green way, we need to be in places where people shop around for their insurance,’ says chief executive

The Green Insurer has revealed that its motor insurance policies are now available on four price comparison websites (PCWs).

The broker launhced in 2023 and aims to help drivers reduce carbon emissions with its policies.

To further expand in the market, the firm is now available on the comparison panels for Go.Compare, MoneySuperMarket, Confused.com and Compare the Market.

Paul Baxter, chief executive at The Green Insurer, made the move after finding that 70% of UK motorists use PCWs to research car insurance premiums.

He obtained this figure from a GlobalData report, published in June 2024, called United Kingdom Insurance aggregators market trends and analysis by line of business, competitor profiles and marketing strategies.

“Our presence on comparison sites is a significant step in making our sustainable insurance products more accessible to a wider audience,” Baxter said.

“In order to give drivers the opportunity to insure in a green way, we need to be in places where people shop around for their insurance.”

Offers

Drivers can also buy direct from The Green Insurer website.

The firm uses driving scores to offer discounted renewal premiums to its policyholders and does not use chatbots to deal with enquiries.

Up to 70 firms have already partnered with The Green Insurer to help offer rewards and discounts, including supermarket chains Tesco, Waitrose and Asda, as well as restaurants Zizi and Ask Italian.

The firm plans to increase its reward partners and it will also be adding other insurance partners in the future.

Baxter said: “Our inclusion further underlines our commitment to providing eco-conscious drivers with comprehensive and competitively priced car insurance options.”
