’I look forward to working with our wholesale leaders around the world,’ says appointee

Marsh has appointed Adam Russell as its new global head of wholesale.

In his new role, Russell will oversee the broker’s wholesale insurance operations worldwide, including portfolio propositions.

His appointment comes following more than 10 years at the broker, with him having joined in 2014.

During this time, he has held senior leadership positions within Marsh’s international wholesale placement business in Singapore. Russell has also led the UK portfolio solutions and digital placement teams.

In his new role, Russell is based in London and reports to John Donnelly, president of global placement.

Donnelly said: ”Bringing together our wholesale capabilities under Russell’s leadership will allow us to provide clients with unparalleled and consistent access to the best and most appropriate markets and solutions for them no matter where they are located around the world.”

Other moves

Marsh also announced that Charlotte Meah would take on Russell’s former role of head of strategy for global placement.

She joined Marsh in 2013 as a senior advisor in the risk consulting business and most recently served as chief of staff at Marsh Specialty and Global Placement.

These moves comes following a range of leadership changes at Marsh in 2025. For example, in February Nigel Hinshelwood was appointed as its new UK chair, with him succeeding Tom Colraine.

In March, meanwhile, Amy Barnes’ was promoted to the position of global head of energy and power. In the same month, Andrew George was announced as president of Marsh Specialty.

Russell said following his appointment: “Marsh is committed to providing clients with the placement solutions they need to thrive amid evolving market dynamics.

”I look forward to working with our wholesale leaders around the world to ensure we deliver the insights and resources necessary for our clients to succeed, no matter the market.”
