’He will be a key member of the underwriting and business development team,’ says chief business development officer

Skuld has appointed Matthew Bayman as its senior vice president of business development.

Bayman will be based in the marine insurer’s London office and help the firm hit its growth targets.

He will take up his new role in early 2025 and report to chief business development officer Gregory Thomas.

“It is not very often that you are able to secure someone of Matthew’s calibre within the world of marine insurance,” Thomas said.

”He will be a key member of the underwriting and business development team. We are excited to have him on board and look forward to working with him to further enhance our service and product offerings to our members, clients as well as the brokers we work with.”

Experience

Bayman brings more than 20 years of experience in the marine insurance industry to the role.

His career has seen him work for a London-based P&I provider in various senior roles, while he has also developed and maintained long-term relationships with clients and brokers across Asia.

“I am delighted to be able to join Skuld, where I will be working with a highly motivated and professional team that has a strong reputation and a clear desire to grow across all lines of marine insurance,” Bayman said.

”Skuld has a unique culture, and its values set it apart from other insurers, and I am eager to be part of its success story.”
