’We will all benefit from their deep experience and understanding of Lloyd’s to enable London to continue to lead the global specialty insurance market,’ says chief executive
The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has appointed two senior market leaders to its board.
The latest additions include Sarah Stanford, who is chief executive at Aspen UK, as well as Duncan Dale, the chief executive at Dale Underwriting Partners.
In their new roles, they will help oversee the strategy, direction and priorities of the association.
Sheila Cameron, chief executive at the LMA, said: “We will all benefit from their deep experience and understanding of Lloyd’s to enable London to continue to lead the global specialty insurance market.”

It comes following Dominick Hoare and Chris Smelt stepping down from the board.

Hoare and Smelt were two of six members to join the LMA board in September 2021.
Smelt currently serves as an underwriting partner at Managing Agency Partners, while Hoare is the group chief underwriting officer at Munich Re Specialty Group.
Hoare has also served as the president at the Insurance Institute of London since September 2023 and is an elected council member for Lloyd’s of London.
Andrew Brooks, chairman at the LMA and non-executive director at Ascot Group, said: “I would like to thank [Hoare] and [Smelt] for their dedication and support to the LMA’s mission and their contributions as board members.”
