She will be succeeded by RSA’s former managing director of UK personal lines
The AA’s managing director of insurance Janet Connor will be swapping her executive position for a non-executive contract after handing over the leadership reins to David Coughlan this summer.
Connor will return to the AA in the autumn as chair of the AAISL Board, subject to regulatory approval.
A spokesperson at AA said: “Her knowledge and experience as [chief executive] has helped us build a very successful insurance business.
“This move to AAISL chair will enable the AA to retain Janet’s skills and knowledge and provide stability and ongoing continuity for the business.”
Connor’s CV includes stints at RSA and Ageas, as well as a non-executive director contract with Varquis Bank.
Connor’s successor Coughlan has spent the last 12 years at insurer RSA, most recently as the managing director of UK personal lines.
The spokesperson added: “David has an impressive insurance background and we look forward to welcoming him to the AA executive team.”
