Anna Meyring, senior associate at Damhurst, talks about the company’s entry for the Diversity and Inclusion Excellence award
1. Why did you put yourselves forward for the category?
Damhurst and Co has always been dedicated to creating a more diverse and inclusive insurance industry.
We put ourselves forward for the Diversity and Inclusion Excellence Award to showcase the measurable impact we’ve made through our innovative recruitment practices, including nameless CVs and psychometric assessments.
We believe that our efforts to address unconscious bias and promote diverse leadership set an important example in the sector.
2. What do you think makes your entry stand out and why should you win the award?
Our entry stands out because of our commitment to data-driven solutions in the recruitment process. Through our comprehensive research process, we identify the most qualified candidates in the market, ensuring equal consideration regardless of protected characteristics.
Further, by using AI to eliminate gendered language and applying unbiased psychometric assessments, we’ve achieved significant results in increasing female representation in leadership roles.
We believe we should win this award because we have gone beyond traditional approaches to drive real change within the insurance industry.
3. What would winning this award mean to you and your firm?
Winning this award would be a significant milestone for Damhurst and Co.
It would validate our ongoing efforts to advance diversity and inclusion in the insurance sector and motivate us to continue leading the way in inclusive recruitment practices.
It would also recognise the dedication of our team and partners in making a tangible impact.
