MNK Re has appointed Simon Ashby as its new executive managing director and global chief commercial officer.
In his new role, Ashby will drive various projects and revenue growth initiatives for the independent broker as it looks to expand its presence worldwide.
He brings nearly 40 years’ experience in the insurance and reinsurance sectors, with him having held senior management roles in both broking and underwriting.
“MNK Re’s expertise in a variety of business classes, combined with its focus on providing bespoke and innovative solutions to traditional and emerging risks, make it well placed for rapid growth,” Ashby said.
“With the business already providing insurance solutions in over 80 countries, I am delighted to be joining this global team as it continues to expand its presence across the world.”
Experience
In his most recent role, Ashby was an active underwriter at Verto Lloyds Syndicate 2689.

His career has also seen him serve as the managing director and chief underwriting officer at Gulf Insurance Company UK, as well as chief executive at Willis Global Solutions International.
He also spent a decade in Bermuda as managing director at Marsh Finpro Bermuda.
