’I am looking forward to 2025 and beyond as we further extend our products and services on offer,’ says top boss
Broker Gallagher has made two major appointments within its specialty division.
The moves will see Paul Bassett take on the role of chief executive for crisis management, while Simon Brookes has been appointed chief executive of financial lines.
Both appointees have been with Gallagher for multiple years and have held senior roles with the business.
Bassett currently serves as the managing director of crisis management, while Brookes presently holds the title of managing director for professional lines.
When they move into their new roles on 1 April 2025, they will report to Jonathan Turner, chief executive at Gallagher Specialty.
Turner said: “Many specialty clients are looking for crisis management and financial lines solutions and both areas are fast expanding as firms grapple with the ever-evolving risks facing their business.
“I have worked with both Bassett and Brookes for a number of years and they are both fantastic leaders and will bring further expertise and knowledge to my executive team.
“I am looking forward to 2025 and beyond as we further extend our products and services on offer.”

Wallers will also take on his new role at the broker on 1 April 2025.
Turner said: “I would also like to thank Wallers for his hard work and efforts to build these teams to where they are today.
“We have an unrivalled level of skill and knowledge in our business and the fact that we have been able to make these senior level appointments from within our existing team demonstrates the strong talent we have at Gallagher.”
His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
