The new hires will support the business with its digital transformation journey
Motor insurer esure has made two new appointments to its senior management team, hiring Andy Burton as chief technology officer and Justin Cockerill as chief commercial officer.
Burton will be joining the business in January 2021 and will be responsible for the development of a new tech-enabled insurance platform to better meet the needs of the group’s customers.
Previously, Burton worked as chief technology officer at digital retailer and financial services provider The Very Group as well as at gambling organisation Sky Betting and Gaming.
Burton is succeeding prior chief technology officer Graham Bolton, who is leaving esure at the beginning of 2021 following a five-year tenure.
Cockerill, on the other hand, started at esure in August and has been responsible for driving sales, customer proposition, channel management, marketing, operations and partnership development.
Prior to working at esure, Cockerill was chief commercial officer at OVO Energy, acting as the managing director of its Pay as You Go business. He has also worked at firms such as Orange, BskyB and Lebara Mobile.
‘Transformational time’
Esure hopes that the addition of Burton and Cockerill to its leadership team will help support the business in its continuing digital transformation journey, strengthen its customer offering and help it to deliver on its strategic ambitions.
David McMillan, chief executive of esure, said: “I am delighted to be welcoming both Andy and Justin to the executive team at a transformational time for the group.
“Both of them bring invaluable experience from highly innovative companies, which will help drive the transformation of our customer proposition, our technology platform and our data assets.
“Andy and Justin will be critical components of our leadership team as we execute our strategy and deliver against the group’s ambitions to become a world class digital insurer.”
