’We’re committed to harnessing the power of our unique technology platform,’ says chief executive
Digital broker Simply Business has reached one million customers globally.
Launched in 2005 in the UK before expanding to the US, the company hit the milestone in less than 20 years of trading.
The firm offers insurance to sole traders, microbusinesses, landlords and small businesses across more than 1,200 different trades and professions.
It said that it added more than 85,000 customers in 2023 and increased its product offering.
“Back in 2005, we set out on a mission to change the way small business owners and landlords purchase insurance,” David Summers, group chief executive at Simply Business, said.
“Now, with over one million customers and over 35 insurers on our panel, we’re committed to harnessing the power of our unique technology platform to make the insurance experience even simpler, better and fairer for many more small businesses across the UK and US.”
Investment
Growth in the company comes following a series of investments, including in its UK contact centre, with the opening of a new office for its Northampton team.

“We’re incredibly proud to offer market-leading simplicity, choice and value to an audience who are vital to both our economy and communities,” Summers said.
“And that same sense of pride extends to the strong foundations we’ve built, all of which underpin our sustained success – pairing cutting-edge technology with vast product expertise and a 1,000-strong team who continuously find ways to go the extra mile for our customers.”
