Fletcher, formerly chief technology officer at Hiscox, will lead the company’s technology and infrastructure development
Specialist cyber insurance provider CFC underwriting has appointed former Jonathan Fletcher as its new chief technology officer.
Fletcher, formerly chief technology officer at Hiscox, will lead the company’s technology and infrastructure development.
He has a career spanning 20 years, including spells at the London Stock Exchange and Accenture prior to his senior role at Hiscox where he oversaw digital transformation initiatives such as the launch of the Hiscox Cloud Platform.
Commenting on his appointment, Fletcher told Insurance Times that “the chance to build a business and not just a technology function was hugely interesting to me”.
In his role he hopes to drive CFC’s growth using technology as a competitive advantage.
“CFC is a very innovative company - we need to reduce the time between ideation and realisation so much that the business side of CFC can’t keep up with the technology function. There’s also the matter of balancing an increasing regulatory burden on the need to drive the top line and remain competitive in what is a challenging market.”
“When it comes to my working life, I’ve done most of the jobs in IT and would consider myself a jack of all trades and master of none - although that diversity gives me great empathy for all the roles that make up the technology function and how best to combine them together for maximum impact.
”And I’ve not always been in insurance - I’ve spent time in retail, banking and had a stab at starting my own company three times,” he added.
