He joins at a time when cyber insurance ’has never been a more critical product’, says chief underwriting officer
Broker veteran Richard Hodson has joined Onda as its new UK business development director.
Hodson, who has held a variety of roles within the cyber area, has worked with both international and regional brokers throughout his career.
He joined international Lloyd’s cyber managing general agency Onda earlier this month.
“I am delighted to join Onda,” Hodson said.
“They have a fantastic tech-backed proposition which is the future of this market. With this technology we are able to simplify cyber insurance by removing the need for increasingly complex proposal forms.
“With a few simple clicks we can go beyond just kicking the tires of the risk and really get under the bonnet.”
Experience
Hodson was most recently an investor director at UK Global Broking Group, a role he held between 2016 and 2022.

Prior to this, he held positions such as head of technology and cyber insurance at Oval Insurance Brokers, as well as director of technology insurance at Arthur J.Gallagher.
Alex Jomaa, Onda’s chief underwriting officer, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Richard to the growing team at Onda.
“Cyber insurance has never been a more critical product and with Richard’s enthusiasm and knowledge we’re sure we can simplify this product and engage more brokers to take it up.”
His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
