’She will be instrumental in helping them to get the most out of our technology to drive profitable growth,’ says chief executive

Dundee-based Broker Insights has appointed Barbara Miller as its new head of broker engagement.

In the newly created role, Miller will be responsible for working with brokers to help them with placement strategy and engaging with insurers via its data and distribution platform Vision.

She joins from Clear Insurance Management, where she was group head of sales operations for more than three years.

Peter Scott, chief executive at Broker Insights, said Miller was joining “during [a] crucial growth phase” for the business.

Scott continued: “Our Vision platform empowers brokers to match client risks with the right insurers. By improving information flow across the insurance value chain, we help brokers and insurers make better decisions and work together more efficiently.

“[Miller] will be instrumental in helping them to get the most out of our technology to drive profitable growth.”

Growth goals

Her appointment comes after Broker Insights revealed that to date, brokers have uploaded £5.5bn of gross written premium (GWP) to its Vision platform and that the firm was on target to hit £6bn by the end of the year.

In a meet the team post on Linkedin, Miller said her goal was to “help brokers achieve better client outcomes through digital transformation”.

The appointee, who has two decades of experience across the financial services and IT sectors, added: “Broker Insights felt like the perfect fit, at the right time. Vision’s ability to pinpoint opportunities, aligned with risk appetite, allows people to focus efforts in the right places.

“We are a people industry and technology that gives client facing professionals more time back to focus on strategic partner relations and clients’ needs is a mission I wanted to put my experience behind.”
