’In an industry where women remain underrepresented, her appointment to such a senior role is to be welcomed,’ says chair
FUW Insurance Services has appointed Karen Royles as its first female executive director.
Royles, who has been with the Welsh agricultural broker since 2015, will join the board to provide operations and sales support.
She first joined the firm as an insurance account handler on a six-month maternity cover contract and went onto hold several senior roles.
This includes the positions of administration manager and group operations manager.
Upon taking up her new role, Royles said: “I started at an entry level position in the company and am grateful that a business, which prides itself on building a structure for staff development at all levels, can prove that commitment through their support for my career path over the past nine years.
“I look forward to the new challenge and will strive to build on FUW Insurance Services’ position in the agricultural and commercial market.”
Chair’s welcome
Her appointment follows that of Ann Beynon OBE, who became chair in 2023.
