’He is skilled at building successful and profitable portfolios,’ says chief executive
Bridgehaven Insurance has appointed Paul Dilley as its new chief underwriting officer, a statement released yesterday (9 January 2024) revealed.
In his new role, Dilley will be responsible for managing the firm’s portfolio of multi-class business.
As part of this, he will work with managing general agent (MGA) partners and reinsurers to deliver underwriting profitability through Bridgehaven’s hybrid fronting model.
“He is skilled at building successful and profitable portfolios and I am delighted Paul has decided to join us and look forward to working with him,” chief executive Paul Jewell said.
Experience
Dilley has more than three decades of experience in the insurance industry, both in the Lloyd’s and international insurance markets.

He joins Bridgehaven from Intact Insurance Group, where he was responsible for Intact International Specialty UK and Europe.
Other roles he has held include chief underwriting officer of RSA’s UK and International businesses and chief executive of Geo Underwriting.
“Paul’s extensive underwriting experience will enable him to develop a strong technical capability that supports our unique hybrid fronting model,” Jewell said.
His career began in 2019, when he joined a local north London newspaper after graduating from the University of Sheffield with a first-class honours degree in journalism.
He took up the position of deputy news editor at Insurance Times in March 2023, before being promoted to his current role in May 2024.View full Profile
