The start-up has hired a new managing director, chief technology officer, chief commercial officer and senior business analyst
Blockchain insurtech Blocksure has bolstered its executive team with six new hires, amid what it says is increased demand for the technology.
The start-up, which offers brokers and insurers a blockchain-based insurance platform, said it has needed to make the additions to upscale and keep up with the pace of demand from both brokers and insurers.
Joining as managing director is Kevan Aubrey, having spent the last seven years as head of commercial distribution and strategic accounts at LV=, as well as more than two years at RBS and over a year at NIG. His initial focus will be improving how brokers manage schemes and affinity groups with its insurer partners.
Chris Alba Hamilton joins as chief technology officer from insurance blockchain start-up iXledger, along with Martyna Zydzik, who joins from the firm as Blocksure’s new UX designer.
Serial insurtech expert Dorota Zimnoch joins as chief commercial officer, Anthony Chrumka takes up the role of senior business analyst, and Malini Nagaria will take on the role of head of discovery.
No staff members are being replaced - all are new additions.
Reimagining connections
“At Blocksure we are building a transformative insurance platform embracing the needs of policyholders, intermediaries and insurers. Blocksure OS has re-imagined the way multiple parties connect within the insurance ecosystem,” said Ranvir Saggu, chief executive at Blocksure.
“This delivery of exceptional policy administration and processing removes legacy system issues and moves the customer experience towards an environment of frictionless inter-actions previously not possible. Blockchain is cutting edge technology that creates an opportunity for the insurance industry to transform the way it trades and rebuild trust with policyholders.
“Blocksure OS delivers an outstanding value proposition that drastically reduce costs, enables the effective development of new insurance models (e.g. sharing economy, microinsurance, schemes) and positions the customer’s needs at the heart of the solution. Having a team of talented and experienced people who deeply understand the sector will accelerate this progress.”
