The new appointee will take up her position at the beginning of next year
Broker trade body Biba has today (8 December 2022) appointed Jane Kielty – chief commercial officer at its member Aon – as its new deputy chair.
Kielty will officially begin her new position on 1 January 2023.
Kielty has been a member of the board since becoming chair of Biba’s Insurance Brokers’ Standards Committee in 2020 and replaces Laura Hancock, director of Yutree, who has been a Biba board member since 2017 and its deputy chair since 2019.
Kielty is also a former Biba Young Broker of the Year and has led the Standards Committee with “great enthusiasm and purpose during a period of incredible change”, according to a statement.
Enormous experience
Kielty explained: “I was honoured to be asked to take up the position of deputy chair. I am as passionate as I ever was about insurance broking and I hope in my new role I can continue to make a difference to Biba members.”

Biba chief executive Steve White added: “We are lucky to have [Kielty] on the board and she brings an enormous amount of experience to the table.
“[Hancock] has made a fantastic contribution in her five years on the board and I am most grateful to her for all her support.
“This is farewell, not goodbye, as she will continue to work closely with us as one of our member scheme providers.”
