’It is pleasing to note that at Beazley we have an outstanding talent pipeline and strong process of succession planning,’ says chief executive

Insurer Beazley has made a double promotion to strengthen its underwriting and managing agent leadership teams.

The move see Paul Bantick take up the role of chief underwriting officer, while Bethany Greenwood has been named as the new chief executive at Beazley Furlonge, the insurer’s Lloyd’s managing agency.

Greenwood will also take up the additional role of chair of Beazley’s London wholesale management committee.

Both appointees will begin their new roles effective immediately.

Adrian Cox, chief executive at Beazley, said: ”It is pleasing to note that at Beazley we have an outstanding talent pipeline and strong process of succession planning, which means we are able to appoint high calibre leaders, such as Bantick and Greenwood, from our in-house team.”

Experience

Bantick joined Beazley in 2005 and was most recently head of cyber risks. He will continue in this role while the process of appointing his successor is ongoing.

His promotion comes following the decision by current chief underwriting officer Bob Quane to retire.

Cox said: “Bantick is an outstanding insurance leader, he has driven the growth of our own cyber business and been a leader in the ongoing development and maturation of the marketplace.

”I want to thank Quane for his contribution to Beazley, particularly for his focus on the development of our forward looking view of climate risk, which has been key to the ongoing, profitable growth of our property business.”

Greenwood, meanwhile, joined Beazley in 2019 as head of cyber and executive risk. She most recently served as head of specialty risks.

Cox said: “She has an enviable track record during her five years at Beazley of growing and diversifying our product offerings through innovation and building strong trading relationships with broker partners.

”I am delighted she will be bringing her expertise and dynamism full time to London.”
