’Cyber Resilience Centres provide access to high quality – and generally free – advice and guidance,’ says head of cyber

Aviva has teamed up with the Cyber Resilience Centre (CRC) network to launch a campaign aimed at helping brokers across the UK bolster their cyber resilience.

The insurer said it was looking to encourage over 3,000 of its brokers to join their regional Cyber Resilience Centres via a free membership.

It said it was aiming to raise awareness on the importance of cyber resilience among its broker network through direct communications and tailored webinars.

For Cyber Security Awareness Month this October, the campaign is part of Aviva’s role as a National Ambassador for the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group (NCRCG), which, along with nine regional centres, forms the complete Cyber Resilience Centre network.

The network’s stated mission is to enhance the cyber resilience of the UK’s small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) community.

Stephen Ridley, head of cyber at Aviva, said: “Cyber Resilience Centres provide access to high quality – and generally free – advice and guidance. This can offer brokers and their customers a valuable resource to help them improve their cyber resilience.

“Cyber protection can be a complicated area. By taking advantage of our offer of free membership to their regional CRC, brokers can ensure they are accessing clear, concise messaging from a trusted source.

“It is only through collaboration across the public and private sectors that we will be able to solve the cyber challenge, and we are proud to be at the forefront of this initiative.”

The memberships that Aviva is offering provides access to a variety of resources, guidance and training designed to help protect businesses against potential cyber risks.

Each regional centre is police-led, providing SMEs with cyber resilience services tailored to their needs.

Building on the success of this campaign, the National Cyber Resilience Centre Group (NCRCG) has plans for similar initiatives, with several of its national ambassadors preparing to launch comparable campaigns within their own supply chains and customer bases.

Ian Kirby, detective superintendent and chief executive at NCRCG, said: “We are so pleased to have partnered with our national ambassador Aviva to launch this first-of-its kind campaign.

“It is a perfect example of an invaluable yet straightforward way larger organisations can help to strengthen the cyber resilience of smaller ones – by pointing them in the right direction to find trusted cyber support and advice.”
