The bank hopes to reduce its question set even further in the near future
Aviva has partnered with Santander on a new home insurance proposition to deliver quotes to customers faster.
Santander customers will now be able to get a quote in under three minutes. This has been made possible by halving the question set to 14, in comparison with the amount of questions typically filled in to get a home insurance quote.
To do this, available information about the customer and property is used from internal and external sources to pre-populate the application.
Later this year, this question set will be reduced to just six questions for existing Santander customers; the bank claims that by simplifying the process, it reduces the risk of a home insurance payout being rejected.
This is the first major initiative to be launched since Aviva and Santander first announced its strategic partnership back in March.
This news follows Aviva signing a five-year capacity deal with MGA Prestige Underwriting Services, to add a home insurance offering to its existing motor insurance line.
Transformation
Richard Al-Dabbagh, head of insurance at Santander UK, said: “By removing a significant number of questions from the application process we have transformed the customer journey by not only saving customers time, but also removing concerns customers have about providing the right answers.
“Through our partnership with Aviva, we are now able to help customers get a home insurance quote in as much time as it takes to make a cup of tea.”
Santander’s new home insurance product comes in two levels – ‘classic’ provides building cover of up to £500,000 and contents of up to £50,000, while ‘plus’ provides unlimited cover for both.
