’Aventum has a palpable ambition to do things differently,’ says new appointee
(Re)insurance group Aventum has appointed Hasani Jess as its first chief technology officer, a statement released today (4 October 2023) revealed.
Jess will be based in London and take responsibility for delivering an insurance platform that includes broker and underwriter workbenches within the next two years.
Aventum said the new platform would provide it with new capabilities and enhance the firm’s ability to make data-driven decisions.
“Aventum has a palpable ambition to do things differently,” Jess said.
”I was attracted by its people, its winning culture and its belief that anything is possible.
”We have a great foundation and an entrepreneurial culture that’s focused on delivering value for its clients and its people. We are already moving at pace to do things even better and I look forward to seeing our vision come to fruition in the months ahead.”
‘Inspiring technologist’
Jess, who has 25 years’ experience in the technology sector, will join Aventum from Simply Business, where he was chief technology officer for the last five years.

Prior to this, he also held roles at blue chip enterprises including TUI, Harrods, Deutche Bank, UBS, IBM and Visa.
David Bearman, chief executive of Aventum, said that Jess was a ”visionary and an inspiring technologist”.
”I am confident he will lead Aventum to not only transmit our vision, but truly set us apart as a disruptor in the industry,” he added.
”Hasani’s appointment marks a coup for our group as we embark on the next stage of our evolution. He will effect change and will do it quickly – so watch this space.”
