’This is an exciting time for us as we unify our business to leverage the strength of Allianz,’ says chief executive
Allianz UK has announced that it will merge its commercial and personal claims teams to create a new “united claims function”.
The insurer has made the move as it looks to improve its digital capability and create more time value-added services.
As a result of bringing the two teams together, the insurer has also appointed Matt Cox as its new chief claims officer.
He will be responsible for leading the claims function across Allianz UK and will sit on the executive committee.
Allianz Commercial’s large corporate and specialty claims function, however, will continue to be managed and operate separately.
“This is an exciting time for us as we unify our business to leverage the strength of Allianz and continue towards our goal of becoming the leading general insurer in the UK,” Colm Holmes, Allianz UK chief executive, said.
“I’m delighted to welcome Cox to his new position as chief claims officer.”
Experience
Cox has financial services experience across life insurance, general insurance and investment management businesses.
