’I’m thrilled to be joining the business at such an exciting time and look forward to working with my new colleagues,’ says new appointee
Allianz has appointed James Hillon as the new director of pricing for its personal lines business.
A statement released today (13 July 2023) said Hillon would be responsible for leading and implementing the company’s pricing strategy.
This will involve designing and building a pricing capability that provides a foundation for the insurer’s long-term growth ambitions.
He will succeed Hugh Kenyon, who has decided to retire after 17 years in the business.
“As one of the largest personal lines insurers in the UK, Allianz Personal is well-known for its expertise in the general insurance market,” Hillon said.
“I’m thrilled to be joining the business at such an exciting time and look forward to working with my new colleagues to build upon the strong foundations it has established over the last several years and taking the pricing strategy to the next level.”
’Strong background’
Hillon will join the firm later this year from ManyPets, where he currently serves as its chief actuary officer.

Prior to this, he was a director at KPMG UK, where he worked across the personal lines, health and commercial lines sectors and supported insurers with the FCA general pricing practices.
He also spent four years as pricing and propositions director at Co-op Insurance, leading a team with responsibility for pricing, product development, underwriting and first line risk management.
In his new role at Allianz, he will report to Serge Raffard, managing director of Allianz Personal in the UK.
“James has a very strong background in pricing and product development and we’re looking forward to him joining our business,” Raffard said.
“He will play an integral role in helping us build and strengthen our pricing capabilities and ensure we achieve our ambition of having a market-leading motor and home pricing function.”
