Fernandes replaces Simon Wood, who will take charge of European accounting systems
Chartis has named Pedro Fernandes as its UK chief financial officer as part of a European restructuring. He will report to Chartis UK managing director Jim Shea, and into a new pan-European entity created by Chartis.
Fernandes, ex-chief financial officer of Genworth Financial UK Holdings, replaces Simon Wood, who has been promoted to roll out Chartis’s new accounting systems across Europe. Wood is no longer a director of Chartis UK.
Nigel Childs has also stepped down as a director following his promotion to chief financial officer of Chartis Global Markets, while Shea will join Chartis Insurance UK’s board.
Chartis announced in July that it was creating a single London-based holding company for all its European insurance units.
