Beazley Group has appointed Alison O'Rourke and Paula McManus to its UK specialty professional indemnity (PI) unit.
Beazley also announced that it has re-established a UK PI box at Lloyd's. The whole non US PI and D&O team is soon to be relocated to a single box on the first gallery.
McManus joins Beazley from CNA Insurance where she spent the last four years as London professional indemnity manager. O'Rourke joins from Hiscox where she was a PI underwriter for UK Technology Companies from April 2005.
Steve Bashford, senior underwriter non-US PI at Beazley commented: “We see a gap in the market for miscellaneous & non-standard and technology risks based on the general lack of expertise and trade specific wordings. A lot of these risks are either declined through lack of understanding or placed on wordings with inappropriate and often restrictive cover for the professions' needs; this affects such diverse groups as Trade Associations, Management Consultants, Charity Trustees, Bailiffs and the Media. Paula and Alison's expertise will strongly complement the existing team, enabling Beazley to provide a much broader product offering.”
