Gillan to develop five-year plan
The Insurance Institute of Manchester has appointed loss adjuster David Gillan as its president for 2012/2013.
Gillan has worked in the Manchester insurance market for most of his 25 years in the industry.
He is an executive director at global loss adjuster McLarens Young International where he oversees the company’s operations in the north of England, including its Leeds, Manchester and Newcastle offices.
Gillan will focus on developing a five-year plan for the institute.
Gillan said: “I am delighted to have been asked to take on the role of president at my home city of Manchester and I look forward to carrying on the great work of the previous presidents and in particular my predecessor Karen Cartridge.
“The Insurance Institute of Manchester is a prime example of the value that such organisations can add to the local market. It’s a dynamic and forward thinking institute which serves one of the key insurance markets in the UK outside of London. With many insurers and brokers re-opening branches in the regions there is a renewed focus in the industry on the need for regional presence and expertise, and the Institute has a key role to play in fostering the further development of the local market.”
