Misys is considering selling stakes in its business to big assurance companies, it announced yesterday.
The move follows Financial Services Authority proposals to end the split between independent financial advisers and sales agents retained by financial services businesses.
There is speculation about which companies it is negotiating with, centring on its AssureWeb partners: Norwich Union, Friends Provident and Scottish Widows.
It has reportedly appointed Lexicon Partners and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein to advise on its expansion in the financial advice area.
