Insurer's underwriters to work with specialist consultants.
Markel UK, the retail division of specialist insurer Markel International, has launched an exclusive risk management service with care and health consultancy Janjer.
Steve Carroll, managing director of Markel UK, said that since care and health are specialist areas, it made sense that underwriters should work closely with clients to fully appreciate their individual risk exposures.
He said: “This unique risk management feature is a natural progression, as our underwriters will be working in conjunction with specialist consultants who understand the social welfare sector.
“Clients will be able to talk to someone who understands their language, rather than a traditional insurance surveyor who is more likely to have a grounding in manufacturing or warehousing’.
Jerry Oliver, principal of Janjer, added: “As far as I know, this is an insurance company first and I am hopeful that Markel clients will quickly come to appreciate the risk management guidance and assistance we provide. We have a team of qualified consultants with a wealth of practical experience and we are excited at the prospect of helping Markel clients.”
