Insurer looks to digital future with newly-created role
LV= has hired former Aviva executive Heather Smith to the newly-created role of digital transformation director in its general insurance (GI) business.
Smith was previously director of Aviva’s direct business, leading the development of the MyAviva customer portal and app and driving the insurer’s digital development.
In her new role, Smith will join LV=’s GI executive team and work across the technical and operational areas of the insurer’s brokered and direct businesses. She will report to LV= GI managing director Steve Treloar.
Smith said: “Digital continues to play a vital role in the delivery of a high quality service that enriches the customer experience and it’s great to be joining LV= at a time when it is truly embracing its digital journey.”
Treloar added: “It’s an important appointment for LV= GI and it’s fantastic that someone with Heather’s skills, drive – plus extensive commercial and digital experience within the insurance industry – is joining our team.
“In addition, the strategic aligning of our core business functions under one leadership team will strengthen and enable us to work smarter, helping further improve our customer centric service and satisfaction.”
The digital transformation director role is the latest addition to the LV= GI leadership team following the hire of Kieran O’Keeffe as finance director. He will start his new role in October 2016.
