LV= Broker appoints three new senior members, including Allianz’s personal lines motor manager
LV= Broker has today announced three senior appointments to its personal lines department.
It has also launched five new products to expand its motor and home portfolios.
The insurer has appointed Jonathan Santer, Clive Upton and Paul Miles as new heads of different departments in its personal lines division.
Santer was the personal lines motor manager at Allianz UK, where he spent eight years. He has now been appointed as LV= Broker’s head of home underwriting, where he will lead LV= Broker’s home underwriting team and be responsible for defining and implementing the strategy.
Upton has been at LV= for over 11 years, where he was most recently head of motor underwriting. He has now been promoted to head of personal lines underwriting for standard motor. He will have accountability for the strategy, performance and development of the standard motor portfolio.
Miles joined LV= in 2009 as the head of commercial motor. He has been moved up to head of personal lines underwriting for van, motorcycle and specialist.
These appointments follow closely on the heels of the recent launch of five new personal lines broker products, doubling the number of services that LV= provides to the market.
LV=’s Broker Clear product range has been available since the beginning of this month.
Commenting on the appointments, LV=’s personal lines director Michael Lawrence said: “I’m really pleased to welcome three more talented, experienced and skilled leaders to the LV= Broker team. They have all worked in the insurance sector for a number of years and each have excellent track records in delivering great results.
”We’ve made a commitment to become the go-to personal lines insurer in the UK and I’m confident that Jonathan, Clive and Paul will help us achieve this.”
Mike Crane, managing director of LV= Broker, added: “When we initially announced the new business transfers in January, we said that we’d provide opportunities for both our people and those at Allianz.
”We’ve appointed three high-quality individuals that bring excellent skills and expertise to help grow our business and I’m delighted that we’ve been able to retain and promote talent from within LV= and Allianz to head up our underwriting teams.”
