Legal expenses provider and law firm in ATE push

South West-based legal expenses provider Arag has strengthened its position in the North West by securing a deal with law firm Stephensons to provide after-the-event legal expenses insurance.

The agreement will enable Stephensons, to provide a ‘one-stop shop’ after-the-event insurance offering to its clients for specialist cases as well as clinical negligence actions. It will do this by obtaining quotes and activating cover through Arag’s gateway administration system for the Recourse product.

Stephensons has established itself as a major player in the region, particularly in the areas of clinical negligence and consumer credit agreement litigation.

Arag’s business development and marketing director Paul Hurley said: “Stephensons is a large practice providing legal solutions and, as such, find themselves dealing with a cross section of work which requires a partner that can provide insurance to cover a wide spectrum of legal matters and this is where we come in.”
