Kwik-Fit Insurance Services has launched a pet insurance division as part of its planned expansion programme.
It said turnover had increased by 35% during 2003, reaching £33m, making 2004 a prime time for expansion.
Talking about the expansion, Kwik-Fit managing director Martin Oliver said: "Many of our existing customers have made enquiries about pet insurance so this seemed like the next logical step for the business."
He said the company expected to have sold 5,000 policies by the end of the year.
