Jardine Lloyd Thompson (JLT) welcomed the recent ABI initiative for the Assessment of Trade Association Health & Safety Schemes.
The initiative offers an assessment of the Health & Safety schemes ABI Associations offer their members. Each scheme is assessed against the best practice features identified by the ABI's Standing Committee.
Information from the independent assessments is then available for insurers.
JLT Commercial Risks regional director Mandy Perry said: "Premiums for EL cover have gone up substantially in recent years, but through this type of independent scheme assessment, members of associations who have gone through this should gain greater access to the insurance market and an improvement in terms as a result."
