Insurer Brit creates new chief information officer role
Brit Insurance has appointed Ian Powell to the newly-created role of chief information officer.
Powell takes up his position immediately, reporting to chief operating officer Malcolm Beane,
Powell will take responsibility for four crucial business teams: IT operations; change delivery; application development and support; and architecture and portfolio management.
He has 20 years of experience managing information and technology functions in financial institutions and joins Brit Insurance from BlackRock (formerly Merrill Lynch Investment Managers), where he was most recently head of technology service management for its EMEA operations.
Malcolm Beane said: "“Ian has a fantastic track record of managing and delivering systems, processes and services. With his broad spectrum of experience managing technology within a global financial services business his arrival is a great addition to our group operations team.”
